BARDIS EATS: AMARO BISTRO & BAR

Over the weekend we had the opportunity to check out one of Midtown's newest restaurants: Amaro Bistro and Bar located on the corner of 11 th and R street. It is no secret that we love to eat, and more importantly - that we love us some good ol' Italian food. Amaro offers just that! With a traditional menu filled with lasagna, pizza, and spaghetti and meatballs we were anxiously anticipating their opening. Owned and operated by the same group as Shady Lady, we had a feeling Amaro might have a good cocktail or two on the menu as well. After sampling what seemed like everything off of the menu I would definitely recommend the following:
Starter
- Saffron Arancini
Salad
- Mixed Greens Salad
Pizza
- Margarita, although we hear the Funghi is amazing
Pasta
- Lasagna and Spaghetti con Polpettine

The Drunken Butterfly cocktail was pretty good as well.

We can't thoroughly blog about a restaurant without commenting on the décor. Definitely unique and boasts a quirky old world Italian vibe. With 20' ceilings in some areas, rows and rows of books, and an old brick façade - the atmosphere created is one of the more unique environments in town. All in all, Amaro is definitely worth checking out! Call ahead or make a reservation though, the tables fill up fast.
